Applications are now available for the Forest Grove Police Department's 2025 Community Police Academy, which kicks off February 5, 2025.
The nine-week course meets every Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. in the Forest Grove Community Auditorium through April 16, with no class scheduled March 29.
The Academy offers participants an in-depth, first-hand look into various facets of law enforcement and the Forest Grove Police Department. Topics include patrol procedures, detective work, traffic enforcement, emergency vehicle operation, crash reconstruction, hiring and training, use of force, crisis and mental health response, DUII and drug enforcement, among others. The course will also include opportunities to tour the station, get a 'behind the scenes' look into incident responses and investigations, and participate in scenarios and equipment demonstrations.
