Forest Grove Police welcomed another hometown hero to the team as Officer Bryan Blix was sworn in as the department’s newest officer on June 13.

Officer Blix is a Forest Grove local and an alumnus of Forest Grove High School. Following graduation, Bryan earned his associate’s degree in general studies at Portland Community College and began taking steps to follow in the footsteps of his father, a lieutenant with Oregon State Police, into law enforcement.

Bryan will spend a few weeks learning the ropes at the FGPD before heading off to the 16-week Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Academy at the end of June. Upon Academy graduation, he will round out his training by completing another 16 weeks in the FGPD’s Field Training and Evaluation Program.

Bryan is looking forward to serving the community he’s called home since childhood and credits love for and connection with our town as a motivating factor for joining Forest Grove Police.

Welcome to the team, Officer Blix! We’re excited to have you!
