Forest Grove Parks & Recreation is excited to share that the Aquatic Center will receive several long-anticipated upgrades this spring to enhance safety, comfort, and the overall visitor experience. To complete this important work, the facility will be temporarily closed from March 16 through early June.
Planned improvements include replacement of the 25-year-old pool deck with a new non-slip surface, refreshed locker rooms, and plumbing upgrades throughout the building. While we understand how important the Aquatic Center is for swim lessons, recreation, and family time, these improvements will help ensure a more modern, accessible, and long-lasting facility for our community to enjoy for years to come.
We worked carefully to schedule this closure at a time that minimizes impact as much as possible. Because this work will be completed in the spring, there will be no additional maintenance closure later in the summer, as we plan to address other maintenance needs during this period.
During the closure, Parks & Recreation staff will continue offering a variety of programs and activities throughout the City, and we encourage the community to explore these options and stay active. Updated schedules will be shared as they become available.
We are committed to keeping the community informed throughout the project. Updates will be shared on Facebook and Instagram, in the weekly Parks & Recreation digest email, monthly newsletter, and quarterly program guide. If you are not receiving these updates, please check your spam folder and confirm your CivicRec account settings to ensure notifications are enabled.
Our office will remain available during the closure. If you plan to visit in person, we ask that you schedule an appointment in advance. For questions, please contact us at 503.992.3238.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we invest in a brighter future for Forest Grove’s Aquatic Center.
