Story Walk in the Park

Winter Walk

Stites Park - January-March 2026

Slide, step, and stomp through the snow with "Grammy" as she takes her grandkids on a winter adventure. As they explore the woods, they spot a cardinal, learn why some trees are green all year, and build a tall snoman. At the end of the day, they learn how to build a pinecone bird feeder.

Self-Guided Stories in Forest Grove Parks

There are many great reasons to visit a local park, here's another!
In collaboration with Forest Grove Public Library, Forest Grove is bringing books to Stites Park!

The Story begins at the trail head of the Stites Park loop trail.

What is a StoryWalk®?

A StoryWalk® is just what it sounds like: A story you can enjoy while you walk. Picture book pages are mounted on frames along a path and may include activity prompts.

The Public Library Association describes it this way: “A StoryWalk® is literally taking apart a picture book, placing each laminated page in a weather-protected frame, and placing these frames in an outdoor space so that children and families can enjoy books in an outdoor setting.”
