Committee for Community Engagement

1. The purpose of Committee for Community Engagement is to encourage broad-based community representation and advise City Council on public policy issues affecting Forest Grove and Council adopted Goals and Objectives.
2. The Committee is charged with the responsibility to assist the City Council in meeting the goals, policies, and guidelines of State Planning Goal 1 and the City's goals and policy as stated in the Comprehensive Plan, more specifically defined in Section 4, and
3. To implement the CCE responsibilities for citizen engagement/involvement found in Chapters II and III of the Forest Grove Comprehensive Plan.

The CCE is comprised of seven members and one high school student member. Members must reside within city limits or urban growth boundaries.

• Encourage and facilitate citizen engagement;
• Access and opportunity to be involved in the land use process;
• Achieve two-way communication between citizens and policymakers; and
• Conduct the City's Annual Town Meeting, which is generally held the last weekend in January.
