Historic Properties

In 1993, Columbia Historical Research, a Portland-based historic preservation planning consulting firm, undertook a project with the Historic Landmarks Board and City staff to identify, inventory, and evaluate over 300 historic properties within the original 1872 Town Plat for Forest Grove. The result of this work was a series of surveys of local residences and businesses, each containing architectural and historical information, past and current uses of the property, and historic name (if known), as well as black and white photos and vicinity maps.

Despite their age, these surveys are still invaluable resources for research, and they provide short "biographies" for many of Forest Grove's houses and commercial buildings.
